Virginia High School Basketball - Roanoke Catholic crushes New Covenant

January 9, 2023: Roanoke, VA 24016

Roanoke Catholic Celtics (Roanoke, VA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA), 65-38 in a league bout.

The Celtics (10-4) will now prepare for their test against Fishburne Military (Waynesboro, VA). The Caissons go into the Virginia Independent test with a 3-5 record. In their last test, Fishburne Military was trounced by Waynesboro (Waynesboro, VA), 35-34, in a non-league test.

The Gryphons now own a 8-4 record. They play next when they host Covenant for a Virginia Independent test on Tuesday, January 10. New Covenant will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 72-26 non-league loss to Virginia Academy (Ashburn, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 1-9.
