Virginia High School Basketball - Roanoke Catholic thwarts Eastern Mennonite

January 5, 2023: Harrisonburg, VA 22802

The Roanoke Catholic Celtics (Roanoke, VA) basketball knocked off the host Eastern Mennonite Flames (Harrisonburg, VA), 70-58 in Thursday's league test.

The Celtics (9-4) will now prepare for their test against New Covenant (Lynchburg, VA). The Gryphons go into the VISAA Division IV test with a 8-3 record. In their last test, New Covenant notched a victory over Southwest Virginia Academy (Roanoke, VA), 61-45, in a non-league test.

The Flames now own a 7-3 record. They play next when they host North Cross for a VISAA Division II test on Tuesday, January 10. Eastern Mennonite will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 68-32 non-league loss to Woodberry Forest (Woodberry Forest, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 3-5.
