Virginia High School Basketball - Covenant overwhelmed by Eastern Mennonite

January 17, 2023: Charlottesville, VA 22902

The Eastern Mennonite Flames basketball team scored 66 points and restricted the host Covenant Eagles to 41 in the Flames league victory on Tuesday.

The Flames now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wakefield for a non-league contest on Friday, January 20. Eastern Mennonite will battle a Fighting Owls team coming off a 51-44 league win over Randolph-Macon Academy (Front Royal, VA). The Fighting Owls record now stands at 6-2.

The Eagles (1-11) will now prepare for their contest against Roanoke Catholic (Roanoke, VA). The Celtics come into the VISAA Division III contest with a 12-6 record. In their last contest, Roanoke Catholic was routed by Blue Ridge (St. George, VA), 67-53, in a non-league contest.
