The Virginia Episcopal School Bishops basketball team (Lynchburg, VA), was nudged 51-49 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA)

The Gryphons now sport a 16-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hargrave Military Academy for a Virginia Independent battle on Tuesday, January 31. New Covenant will battle a Tigers team coming off a 94-51 league win over Chatham (Chatham, VA). The Tigers record now stands at 14-4.

The Bishops (6-17) will now prepare for their battle against Covenant (Charlottesville, VA). The Eagles come into the Virginia Independent battle with a 1-15 record. In their last battle, Covenant was nudged by Carlisle (Axton, VA), 72-0, in a league battle.
