Mississippi High School Basketball - Newton overwhelms Clarkdale
January 9, 2024: Newton, MS 39345 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Newton Tigers (Newton, MS) and the visiting Clarkdale Bulldogs (Meridian, MS), saw Newton's basketball squad wallop Clarkdale by a tally of 71-29.
With the victory, Newton improves its record to 12-6 on the campaign. The Tigers host Lake (Lake, MS) to confront the Hornets in a 2A Region 5 test on Tuesday, January 16. The Hornets go into the test with a record of 7-9.
The Bulldogs now own a 9-8 record. They play next when they travel to Scott Central for a 2A Region 5 test on Friday, January 12.
