Mississippi High School Basketball - Newton can't hold off Bay Springs
January 5, 2024: Bay Springs, MS 39422 The Bay Springs Bulldogs basketball team scored 47 points and restricted the visiting Newton Tigers to 42 in the Bulldogs league victory on Friday.
The Bulldogs now sport a 11-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Scott Central for a 2A Region 5 contest on Tuesday, January 9. Bay Springs will battle a Rebels team coming off a 50-47 league loss to Lake (Lake, MS). The Rebels record now stands at 7-8.
The Tigers (11-6) will now prepare for their contest against Clarkdale (Meridian, MS). The Bulldogs come into the 2A Region 5 contest with a 9-7 record. In their last contest, Clarkdale edged Enterprise (Enterprise, MS), 57-47, in a non-league contest.
