Illinois High School Basketball - Gibault Catholic overwhelms Metro-East Lutheran

The Gibault Catholic Hawks basketball team scored 37 points and limited the visiting Metro-East Lutheran Knights to 13 in the Hawks non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Hawks now have a 10-6 record. They play next when they host East Alton-Wood River for a non-league game on Saturday, January 11. Gibault Catholic will confront a Oilers team coming off a 74-29 league loss to Breese Central (Breese, IL). The Oilers record now stands at 6-13.

With the loss, Metro-East Lutheran falls to 1-13 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Roxana (Roxana, IL) to confront the Shells in a non-league game on Saturday, January 11. The Shells go into the game with a record of 7-7. Roxana lost 42-33 in their recent league game against Salem (Salem, IL)
