The South Charlotte Thunder basketball squad (Matthews, NC), was nudged 75-73 in Thursday's league battle with the host South Guilford HomeSchool Cougars (High Point, NC)

With the victory, South Guilford HomeSchool advances its record to 16-4 on the year. The Cougars host New Garden Friends (Greensboro, NC) to meet the Bears in a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 14. The Bears enter the battle with a record of 0-3. New Garden Friends lost 58-44 in their recent non-league battle against Calvary Day School (Winston-Salem, NC)

The Thunder now own a 3-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Greater Cabarrus Stallions for a battle on Tuesday, January 14. South Charlotte will meet a Stallions squad coming off a 47-36 non-league win over Metrolina Christian Academy (Indian Trail, NC). The Stallions record now stands at 8-7.
