Ohio High School Volleyball - Anthony Wayne tips Northview
October 12, 2023: Sylvania, OH 43560 Anthony Wayne Generals (Whitehouse, OH) supporters left the game in high spirits Thursday as they observed their volleyball squad hold off the host Northview Wildcats (Sylvania, OH), 3-2 in a league match.
With the loss, Northview drops to 13-8 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Magnificat (Rocky River, OH) to clash with the Blue Streaks in a non-league match on Saturday, October 14. The Blue Streaks come into the match with a record of 14-7. Magnificat won 3-0 in their recent non-league match against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (Chardon, OH)
Match Summary
SYLVANIA - On Senior Night, as Northview celebrated the success of their five seniors - Jordyn Pakulski, Claire Smith, Hannah Schoen, Natalie Kerchevall and Hannah Davis and recognized the efforts of the Anthony Wayne seniors, the match was one to remember. With the final ball landing at close to 10:30 P.M., Anthony Wayne was victorious in a five set thriller, pushing Northview to 13-8 overall, 9-5 in the NLL.
Leading for the Cats was senior Natalie Kerchevall with a team high 19 kills, hitting .271, and 3 blocks, and seniors Hannah Davis and Claire Smith with 9 kills a piece; Smith added a team high 5 blocks, while hitting .429. Senior setters Kerchevall and Hannah Schoen dished out 11 and 27 assists respectfully, and four players recorded double digit digs; Hannah Schoen (19), Hannah Davis (17), Jordyn Pakulski (15), and Sydney Rogers (11).
Northview will finish off the regular season as they travel to Magnificat on Saturday.
