October 18, 2022: George West, TX 78022 The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the George West Longhorns (George West, TX) and the visiting Mathis Pirates (Mathis, TX), saw George West's volleyball squad beat Mathis by a tally of 3-0.
With the win, George West upgrades its record to 10-17 on the year. The Longhorns host Goliad (Goliad, TX) to play the Tigers in a 3A Region IV District 29 bout on Friday, October 21. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 28-12. Goliad won 3-0 in their recent league bout against Odem (Odem, TX)
The Pirates now own a 11-21 record. They play next when they host Aransas Pass for a 3A Region IV District 29 bout on Friday, October 21. Mathis will play a Panthers squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Taft (Taft, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 17-15.
