The Independence Patriots topped the host Bluefield Beavers volleyball team by a score of 2-0 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Patriots now have a 24-18 record. They play next when they host Greenbrier East for a non-league contest on Tuesday, October 24. Independence will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 2-0 league win over South Charleston (South Charleston, WV). The Spartans record now stands at 39-9.

With the loss, Bluefield moves to 5-19 on the year. The Beavers host Liberty (Glen Daniel, WV) to battle the Raiders in a non-league contest on Tuesday, October 24. The Raiders go into the contest with a record of 17-21.
