The Independence Patriots volleyball team scored 2 points and limited the host Nicholas County Grizzlies to 0 in the Patriots non-league victory on Saturday.

The Patriots now have a 20-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Liberty for a non-league game on Saturday, October 7. Independence will meet a Raiders team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Hoover (Clendenin, WV). The Raiders record now stands at 10-15.

The Grizzlies (10-27) will now prepare for their game against Liberty (Glen Daniel, WV). The Raiders enter the Coalfield AA game with a 10-15 record. In their last game, Liberty dropped by Hoover (Clendenin, WV), 2-0, in a non-league game.
