New Mexico High School Volleyball - Los Alamos tips Hope Christian
November 11, 2022: Albuquerque, NM 87109 The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Los Alamos Hilltoppers (Los Alamos, NM) and the host Hope Christian Huskies (Albuquerque, NM), saw Los Alamos's volleyball squad nip Hope Christian by a tally of 3-2.
With the win, Los Alamos upgrades its record to 21-7 on the year. The Hilltoppers travel to St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Sartans in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 12. The Sartans go into the bout with a record of 20-5. St. Pius X won 3-1 in their recent non-league bout against Artesia (Artesia, NM)
The Huskies now own a 18-8 record.
Match Summary
The Toppers came in looking for a little bit of revenge and of course the spot in the semi-finals. Hope had taken LA behind the woodshed earlier in the year and swept the Toppers convincingly. LA had different plans in the rematch. LA jumped out to a quick set 1 win and fought off the Huskies for a 2-0 lead. It looked like the third set was all it would take as the Toppers were up 23-20 but the Huskies sledded back and took the set and then won an easy 4th set. The fifth set was all green and gold as the Toppers took the 5 set win and advanced to Saturday.
