Grace Academy Lions (Matthews, NC) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting South Charlotte Thunder (Matthews, NC), 50-48 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Grace Academy advances its record to 1-1 on the year. The Lions host Varsity Opponent (, ) to meet the in a non-league match on Tuesday, November 19. The enter the match with a record of 31-151.

The Thunder now own a 0-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Chatham HomeSchool for a non-league match on Saturday, November 16. South Charlotte will meet a Thunder squad coming off a 61-53 non-league loss to Union Grove Christian (Lexington, NC). The Thunder record now stands at 0-3.
