In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Gaston Christian Eagles basketball team scored a close 54-53 triumph over the Ambassador Christian School Lions.

The Eagles (5-2) will now prepare for their contest against Asheville Christian Academy (Swannanoa, NC). The Lions go into the non-league contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Asheville Christian Academy nipped Covenant Day (Matthews, NC), 55-52, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Lions battle the Concord Academy Eagles (Concord, NC) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, November 30. Ambassador Christian School will attempt to better on its 4-1 season record.
