Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Melrose Buffaloes (Melrose, NM) and the visiting Gateway Christian Warriors (Roswell, NM), observed Melrose's volleyball team hold off Gateway Christian by a count of 3-2.

The Buffaloes (20-2) will now prepare for their contest against Floyd (Floyd, NM). The Broncos go into the 1A District 4 battle with a 3-18 record. In their last battle, Floyd was edged by Lake Arthur (Lake Arthur, NM), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Warriors now own a 16-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lake Arthur for a 1A District 4 battle on Thursday, November 6. Gateway Christian will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Floyd (Floyd, NM). The Panthers record now stands at 10-6.
