In Thursday's non-league outing, the Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC) basketball squad nipped the visiting Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC), by a margin of 52-46.

The Mavericks (3-2) will now prepare for their outing against Robinson (Concord, NC). The Bulldogs go into the non-league outing with a 2-2 record. In their last outing, Robinson got by Northwest Cabarrus (Concord, NC), 67-43, in a non-league outing.
