North Carolina High School Basketball - Independence crushes West Mecklenburg

December 29, 2022: Charlotte, NC 28214

Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC), 56-15 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Independence upgrades its record to 7-6 on the season. The Patriots travel to Berry (Charlotte, NC) to play the Cardinal in a non-league bout on Friday, December 30. The Cardinal go into the bout with a record of 4-7. Berry lost 66-43 in their recent non-league bout against Fort Mill (Fort Mill, SC)

Next up, the Hawks play the North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 60 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. West Mecklenburg will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 10-0 record after their 78-60 non-league win over Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN).
