North Carolina High School Basketball - Swain County overwhelms Highlands
December 6, 2023: Bryson City, NC 28713 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) and the visiting Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC), saw Swain County's basketball squad wallop Highlands by a tally of 84-50.
With the victory, Swain County improves its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Maroon Devils travel to Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC) to confront the Bobcats in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 8. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a record of 1-5. Blue Ridge Early College lost 74-45 in their recent non-league challenge against Asheville Trailblazers (Asheville, NC)
Coming up next, the Highlanders battle the Robbinsville Black Knights (Robbinsville, NC) in a 1A Smoky Mountain contest, on Friday, December 8. Highlands will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record. The Black Knights come into the contest with a 2-0 record after their 63-57 non-league win over Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC).
