The Cortez Colts basketball squad (Phoenix, AZ), was nudged 36-32 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the visiting Shadow Mountain Matadors (Phoenix, AZ)

With the victory, Shadow Mountain advances its record to 1-8 on the year. The Matadors travel to Lake Havasu (Lake Havasu City, AZ) to meet the Knights in a non-league battle on Friday, December 12. The Knights enter the battle with a record of 3-2. Lake Havasu won 48-33 in their recent non-league battle against Mohave (Bullhead City, AZ)

The Colts now own a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Marcos de Niza for a non-league challenge on Friday, December 12. Cortez will battle a Padres team coming off a 55-19 non-league win over La Joya Community (Avondale, AZ). The Padres record now stands at 3-4.
