Iowa High School Basketball - Independence knocked off by Grinnell
December 12, 2023: Independence, IA 50644 The Grinnell Tigers basketball team scored 62 points and held the host Independence Mustangs to 46 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Tigers now sport a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Tama County for a non-league contest on Friday, December 15. Grinnell will meet a Trojans team coming off a 43-41 non-league win over Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IA). The Trojans record now stands at 2-2.
The Mustangs (1-4) will now prepare for their contest against West Delaware (Manchester, IA). The Hawks enter the non-league contest with a 0-4 record. In their last contest, West Delaware was outscored by Benton (Van Horne, IA), 55-48, in a non-league contest.
