The Sharyland Rattlers basketball team (Mission, TX), was overwhelmed 71-29 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX)

The Sabercats now possess a 13-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Valley View for a 5A Region IV District 31 battle on Friday, December 16. Vela will confront a Tigers team coming off a 28-13 league loss to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest (Pharr, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 1-7.

The Rattlers (13-6) will now prepare for their battle against McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX). The Mustangs come into the 5A Region IV District 31 battle with a 12-6 record. In their last battle, McAllen Memorial trounced McAllen (McAllen, TX), 49-31, in a league battle.
