December 16, 2022: Nixon, TX 78140 The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs ran past the visiting St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds basketball team by a final score of 44-33 in Friday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Mustangs face the Randolph Ro-Hawks (Universal City, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 26 game, on Tuesday, December 20. Nixon-Smiley will attempt to move on its 10-1 season record. The Ro-Hawks enter the game with a 5-5 record after their 41-32 non-league loss to La Vernia (La Vernia, TX).
With the defeat, St. Joseph Academy moves to 13-5 on the year. The Bloodhounds host Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX) to face the Cougars in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 3. The Cougars enter the game with a record of 13-9.
