Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) and the host Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC), saw Shelby's basketball squad wallop Cherryville by a tally of 71-18.

With the victory, Shelby improves its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Golden Lions travel to Crest (Shelby, NC) to confront the Chargers in a non-league challenge on Monday, December 19. The Chargers come into the challenge with a record of 1-3. Crest lost 44-37 in their recent league challenge against Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC)

Next up, the Ironmen confront the Burns Bulldogs (Lawndale, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 40 challenge, on Tuesday, December 20. Cherryville will attempt to improve on its 1-7 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 2-4 record after their 49-46 league win over Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC).
