East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC), 47-46 in a league bout.

With the win, East Gaston upgrades its record to 2-9 on the season. The Warriors travel to Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC) to clash with the Gryphons in a 1A/2A Conference 40 bout on Friday, January 6. The Gryphons go into the bout with a record of 8-4. Thomas Jefferson won 41-35 in their recent league bout against Burns (Lawndale, NC)

Next up, the Ironmen clash with the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets (Bessemer City, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 40 bout, on Friday, January 6. Cherryville will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 9-4 record after their 55-42 league loss to Shelby (Shelby, NC).
