North Carolina High School Basketball - Shelby overwhelms Highland Tech

January 6, 2023: Gastonia, NC 28052

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) and the host Highland Tech Rams (Gastonia, NC), saw Shelby's basketball squad wallop Highland Tech by a tally of 59-12.

With the victory, Shelby improves its record to 9-1 on the campaign. The Golden Lions travel to East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC) to play the Warriors in a 1A/2A Conference 40 challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 2-10. East Gaston lost 45-44 in their recent league challenge against Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC)

Next up, the Rams play the Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 40 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Highland Tech will attempt to improve on its 3-9 season record. The Ironmen come into the challenge with a 2-11 record after their 66-18 league loss to Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC).
