The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), observed Alexander Central's basketball team overwhelm Newton-Conover by a margin of 65-39.

The Cougars (3-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Davie (Mocksville, NC). The War Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 6-1 record. In their last challenge, Davie trounced East Forsyth (Kernersville, NC), 58-54, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Red Devils battle the Lincolnton Wolves (Lincolnton, NC) in a 2A Catawba Valley challenge, on Friday, December 20.
