In Friday's league contest, the visiting West Point Pointers basketball team scored a good 41-26 triumph over the Mathews Blue Devils.

The Pointers (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against King William (King William, VA). The Cavaliers enter the Tidewater battle with a 1-7 record.

The Blue Devils now own a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Middlesex for a Tidewater battle on Thursday, January 2. Mathews will meet a Chargers squad coming off a 39-37 league win over King & Queen Central (King & Queen Court House, VA). The Chargers record now stands at 2-4.
