The Charles City Panthers basketball team scored 40 points and limited the host Mathews Blue Devils to 36 in the Panthers league triumph on Thursday.

The Panthers now possess a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to Cumberland for a non-league game on Friday, December 13. Charles City will confront a Dukes team coming off a 48-26 league win over Nottoway (Nottoway, VA). The Dukes record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Mathews falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Blue devils travel to Colonial Beach (Colonial Beach, VA) to battle the Drifters in a non-league contest on Friday, December 13. The Drifters come into the contest with a record of 5-0. Colonial Beach won 49-29 in their recent non-league contest against La Plata (La Plata, MD)
