Olton Mustangs (Olton, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sundown Roughnecks (Sundown, TX), 47-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Olton upgrades its record to 6-13 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Sudan (Sudan, TX) to clash with the Hornets in a 2A Region I District 4 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 14-7. Sudan won 49-40 in their recent non-league bout against Sands (Ackerly, TX)

Next up, the Roughnecks clash with the New Home Leopards (New Home, TX) in a 2A Region I District 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Sundown will attempt to upgrade on its 15-5 season record.
