Northampton County Jaguars (Gaston, NC) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Northwest Halifax Vikings (Littleton, NC), 58-52 in a league match.

With the victory, Northampton County advances its record to 1-0 on the year. The Jaguars host Wilson Prep (Wilson, NC) to face the Tigers in a 1A Tar Roanoke match on Wednesday, December 4. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 2-1. Wilson Prep lost 76-71 in their recent league match against North Edgecombe (Tarboro, NC)

The Vikings now own a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Warren County for a 1A Tar Roanoke match on Wednesday, December 4. Northwest Halifax will face a Eagles squad coming off a 57-55 non-league loss to J.F. Webb (Oxford, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 0-1.
