The Hay Springs Hawks (Hay Springs, NE) basketball nipped the visiting Morrill Lions (Morrill, NE), 48-43 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Hawks (2-1) will now prepare for their test against Hemingford (Hemingford, NE). The Bobcats go into the non-league test with a 0-2 record.

The Lions now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they host Garden County for a non-league test on Friday, December 9. Morrill will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 79-36 non-league win over Sioux County (Harrison, NE). The Eagles record now stands at 3-0.
