In Saturday's league contest, the host First Flight Nighthawks basketball team scored a big 59-32 win over the Holmes Aces.

The Nighthawks (12-2) will now prepare for their contest against Hertford County (Ahoskie, NC). The Bears come into the 2A/3A Northeastern Coastal contest with a 7-9 record. In their last contest, Hertford County smashed Bertie (Windsor, NC), 60-20, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Aces battle the Currituck County Knights (Barco, NC) in a 2A/3A Northeastern Coastal contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Holmes will attempt to better on its 5-10 season record. The Knights come into the contest with a 15-4 record after their 48-40 non-league win over Martin County (Williamston, NC).
