Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL), 55-41 in a league match.

With the victory, Southwestern advances its record to 17-12 on the year. The Piasa Birds travel to North Mac (Virden, IL) to face the Panthers in a South Central match on Thursday, February 20. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 10-18. North Mac lost 53-35 in their recent league match against Pana (Pana, IL)

The Miners now own a 5-21 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Litchfield for a South Central match on Thursday, February 20.
