New York High School Basketball - Southwestern thwarts Olean
February 2, 2023: Jamestown, NY 14701 The Southwestern Trojans (Jamestown, NY) basketball knocked off the visiting Olean Huskies (Olean, NY), 61-52 in Thursday's league test.
The Trojans (9-7) will now prepare for their test against Fredonia (Fredonia, NY). The Hillbillies go into the Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I West test with a 12-5 record. In their last test, Fredonia notched a victory over Dunkirk (Dunkirk, NY), 78-55, in a league test.
The Huskies now own a 7-10 record. They play next when they host Salamanca for a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I West test on Monday, February 6. Olean will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 54-42 league win over Allegany-Limestone (Allegany, NY). The Warriors record now stands at 14-2.
