New York High School Basketball - Salamanca nips Olean
February 6, 2023: Olean, NY 14760 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Salamanca Warriors (Salamanca, NY) and the host Olean Huskies (Olean, NY), saw Salamanca's basketball squad hold off Olean by a count of 63-56.
With the victory, Salamanca upgrades its record to 15-2 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Southwestern (Jamestown, NY) to play the Trojans in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I West challenge on Thursday, February 9. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 9-8. Southwestern lost 62-59 in their recent league challenge against Fredonia (Fredonia, NY)
Next up, the Huskies play the Dunkirk Marauders (Dunkirk, NY) in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I West challenge, on Thursday, February 9. Olean will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Marauders come into the challenge with a 1-15 record after their 107-30 non-league loss to Erie (Erie, PA).
