The Charleston Math & Science Riptide basketball team (Charleston, SC), dropped 37-28 in Friday's league battle with the host St. John's Islanders (John's Island, SC)

The Islanders now possess a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Palmetto Scholars Academy for a A Region 8 battle on Monday, February 6. St. John's will confront a Phoenix team coming off a 72-69 league win over Cross (Cross, SC). The Phoenix record now stands at 10-11.

The Riptide (4-19) will now prepare for their battle against Lowcountry Leadership (Hollywood, SC). The NaviGators come into the A Region 8 battle with a 7-9 record. In their last battle, Lowcountry Leadership dropped by Military Magnet Academy (North Charleston, SC), 83-20, in a league battle.
