Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC), 38-22 in a league bout.

With the win, Starmount upgrades its record to 11-10 on the season. The Rams travel to Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to play the Trojans in a 1A Conference 36 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 0-21. Alleghany lost 42-31 in their recent league bout against Elkin (Elkin, NC)

Next up, the Buckin' Elks play the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) in a 1A Conference 36 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Elkin will attempt to upgrade on its 4-17 season record. The Granite Bears go into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 68-40 non-league loss to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC).
