Illinois High School Basketball - Marengo nips Harvard
February 6, 2024: Marengo, IL 60152 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Marengo Indians (Marengo, IL) and the visiting Harvard Hornets (Harvard, IL), saw Marengo's basketball squad hold off Harvard by a tally of 53-47.
With the victory, Marengo improves its record to 4-24 on the campaign. The Indians host Richmond-Burton (Richmond, IL) to play the Rockets in a Kishwaukee River challenge on Friday, February 9. The Rockets come into the challenge with a record of 14-11. Richmond-Burton lost 57-43 in their recent league challenge against Woodstock North (Woodstock, IL)
Next up, the Hornets play the Genoa-Kingston Cogs (Genoa, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 8. Harvard will attempt to improve on its 2-23 season record. The Cogs come into the challenge with a 8-18 record after their 57-47 non-league loss to Somonauk (Somonauk, IL).
