Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), 51-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mountain Heritage upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Cougars host Draughn (Valdese, NC) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 3-11. Draughn won 62-12 in their recent non-league bout against Rosman (Rosman, NC)

Next up, the Patriots play the Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Madison will attempt to upgrade on its 3-14 season record. The Warhorses go into the bout with a 3-7 record after their 29-26 league win over Avery County (Newland, NC).
