Chester Volcanoes (Chester, CA) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad thwart the host CORE Butte Lynx (Chico, CA), 24-1 in a league game.

With the triumph, Chester upgrades its record to 10-4 on the year. The Volcanoes host Portola (Portola, CA) to play the Tigers in a non-league game on Tuesday, April 14. The Tigers enter the battle with a record of 15-1. Portola won 16-1 in their recent league challenge against Maxwell (Maxwell, CA)

The Lynx (0-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Willows (Willows, CA). The Honkers enter the non-league challenge with a 1-15 record. In their last challenge, Willows was routed by East Nicolaus (Nicolaus, CA), 7-0, in a league challenge.
