In Monday's non-league game, the visiting Greenbrier East Spartans baseball team scored a nice 14-2 victory over the Nicholas County Grizzlies.

The Spartans (16-9) will now prepare for their game against Independence (Coal City, WV). The Patriots enter the non-league game with a 7-9 record. In their last game, Independence defeated PikeView (Princeton, WV), 11-9, in a league game.

Next, the Grizzlies face the Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV) in a Coalfield AA game, on Wednesday, April 30. Nicholas County will attempt to improve on its 10-9 season record. The Patriots enter the game with a 2-11 record after their 7-6 non-league win over Richwood (Richwood, WV).
