Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Rogers Vikings (Newport, RI), 20-2 in a league challenge.

The Crusaders now own a 10-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Barrington for a Division 2 A challenge on Monday, May 16. Prout will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 8-7 league loss to Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI). The Eagles record now stands at 4-9.

With the loss, Rogers falls to 0-10 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Westerly (Westerly, RI) to battle the Bulldogs in a Division 2 A challenge on Thursday, May 12. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 9-3. Westerly won 2-1 in their recent league challenge against Middletown (Middletown, RI)
