Rhode Island High School Softball - Middletown holds off Prout
May 25, 2022: Wakefield, RI 02879 Spectators at Wednesday's league match between the Middletown Islanders (Middletown, RI) and the host Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI), witnessed Middletown's softball squad tip Prout by a count of 2-0.
The Islanders now sport a 11-5 record. They play next when they travel to Rogers for a Division 2 A match on Thursday, May 26. Middletown will meet a Vikings squad coming off a 12-0 league loss to Exeter-West Greenwich (West Greenwich, RI). The Vikings record now stands at 0-17.
With the loss, Prout moves to 15-3 on the season. The Crusaders host Mt. Hope (Bristol, RI) to meet the Huskies in a Division 2 A match on Thursday, May 26. The Huskies go into the match with a record of 17-1. Mt. Hope won 8-4 in their recent league match against Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI)
