The Lowell Red Devils (Lowell, IN) softball routed the host Kankakee Valley Kougars (Wheatfield, IN), 9-3 in Wednesday's league outing.

The Red Devils now own a 5-10 record. They play next when they travel to Illiana Christian for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 7. Lowell will play a Vikings squad coming off a 13-2 league win over Whiting (Whiting, IN). The Vikings record now stands at 10-5.

The Kougars (15-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Highland (Highland, IN). The Trojans enter the Northwest Crossroads challenge with a 6-9 record. In their last challenge, Highland was routed by Boone Grove (Valparaiso, IN), 21-11, in a non-league challenge.
