In Friday's non-league game, the visiting Sherman Tide baseball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Capital Cougars.

The Tide (10-11) will now prepare for their game against Van (Van, WV). The Bulldogs enter the Freelance game with a 2-20 record.

Next, the Cougars face the Cabell Midland Knights (Ona, WV) in a Mountain State game, on Monday, May 12. Capital will attempt to improve on its 6-15 season record.
