Maryland High School Lacrosse - Gonzaga can't hold off DeMatha
May 9, 2025: Hyattsville, MD 20781 DeMatha Stags (Hyattsville, MD) followers exited the stadium satisfied Friday as they saw their lacrosse team nip the visiting Gonzaga Eagles (Washington, DC), 9-8 in a league game.
With the victory, DeMatha advances its record to 14-3 on the season. The Stags travel to St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, MD) to play the Knights in a Washington Catholic game on Monday, May 12. The Knights come into the game with a record of 10-6. St. Mary's Ryken won 10-9 in their recent non-league game against St. John's (Washington, DC)
The Eagles now sport a 10-9 record.
