Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN) and the host Highland Trojans (Highland, IN), observed Merrillville's volleyball team top Highland by a count of 3-0.

The Pirates (5-7) will now prepare for their contest against Portage (Portage, IN). The Indians enter the Duneland contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, Portage notched a victory over Michigan City (Michigan City, IN), 3-1, in a league contest.
