The Alexander Central Cougars volleyball team (Taylorsville, NC), went down 3-1 in Wednesday's league challenge with the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC)

The Huskies (7-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers enter the Northwestern 3A/4A challenge with a 9-3 record. In their last challenge, Hibriten defeated Freedom (Morganton, NC), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars encounter the West Iredell Warriors (Statesville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 15. Alexander Central will attempt to move on its 3-5 season record. The Warriors enter the challenge with a 8-3 record after their 3-1 league loss to Foard (Newton, NC).
