The Bland County Bears basketball team (Rocky Gap, VA), was toppled 45-36 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA)

The Maroon Tide now possess a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host George Wythe for a Mountain Empire battle on Tuesday, January 24. Galax will confront a Maroons team coming off a 41-34 league loss to Auburn (Riner, VA). The Maroons record now stands at 11-4.
